I know that model mysteries are generally the preserve of Paul at Plastic Warriors, but here is something to get you scratching your heads. It's a 1/72 aircraft which I am building as part of my Little Cold Wars project. You can have 100 points for getting the name of the aircraft and a bonus 50 for the kit manufacturer.
I will turn on comment moderation until Monday to prevent copying!
UPDATE 18/08/14 - it is the Heller kit of the Alpha Jet. There was a clue in the photo above - of 'half a jet.....'
F5 Freedom Fighter
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna guess an Alpha jet by Airfix.
ReplyDeleteI'd Hazard a Dornier Alphajet. Could it be Matchbox?
ReplyDeleteInitial thought was the Airfix Folland Gnat, but it isn't.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fast jet thingy.
ReplyDeleteAlpha jet- Revell
ReplyDeleteHmm, I'll take a (probably wild) guess - 2-seater version of the Northrop F5 Freedom Fighter? (Is that the F5B?)
ReplyDeleteAs to manufacturer, Arifix only did the F5A I think so it's not them. PM models?
Probably hopelessly wrong :)
Alpha Jet?
ReplyDeleteLooks like an F5E. Not sure of manufacturer. Not Italeri, possibly Airfix.
ReplyDelete1/72 Revell Dornier/Dassault Alpha Jet, Kit number 03995.
ReplyDeleteRe boot of the Heller kit first released in the 1970s.
But I could be wrong...
Matchbox Alpha Jet ?
ReplyDeleteMy guess is an Airfix Alpha Jet.
ReplyDeleteHi Tim, tricky one, looks to me like an Alpha Jet from Revell. Always looked like the younger more attractive sister to the BAE Hawk.
ReplyDeleteAll the best
Airhead

ReplyDelete5 points for effort - but no cigar!

ReplyDeleteCall it 125 points- I'm not sure if the Airfix A-J is the same kit as the Heller version.

ReplyDeleteIt could be Matchbox. But it isn't. But you score 100 points!

ReplyDeleteIt is an Alpha Jet - and I agree that it looks a bit sleeker than the Hawk! 100 points
