Film at Eleven - part 2

As we approached the town a few groups of local militia appeared.  They rather unwisely fired on the main force coming from the north with rifles and RPGs.  This triggered (pun intended!) our firepower 'demonstration' where the entire company fired a short burst into the air.  That alone discouraged some of those who might otherwise have had a go.  The 'militia' on the northern edge of town turned out to be nasties and they were dealt with appropriately.  Happily their unprovoked aggression and our restraint and measured response had been captured on film by the news crew.

3 Plt makes its approach to the Pump House.
But who is this in the way?
More militia.  They opened fire...
...which was returned and multiplied by our lads...
...who then assaulted the militia position.
The few defenders of the Pump House soon fled...
...as we consolidated our grip on the town.
The interpreter (left) has a chat to the Imam, resulting in the militia laying down their weapons.

If only it was always this easy!

  1. And that was that. A touch of honour in the modern day, shameful!

  2. I was barracking for the D'regs, Toeregs and other Rag'eads of course. Always was a sucker for the underdog. Nice troops, fine terrain, and creative use of building blocks.
