A Tempestuous affair - part 1

Having decided some time ago that I needed a 1/72 Tempest for this year's Wargame Developments (North) show game, I settled on the Academy kit as the most cost effective (at about £6) solution.
With the box open all was looking good.  Crisply moulded parts and pleasing levels of detail.  But not too much!
The initial parts went together nicely...
...and soon the thing was ready for a spray undercoat.  More news when it's dry!

  2. Nice work. I've got an Airfix one waiting to be built. Grunty looking things!

It's certainly a nice kit to build.

Isn't the Airfix kit the Heller tooling? That'll make for an interesting comparison.
