Turning the tide - part 3

We return to the action just as the Forbodian gunners have found their target (or just got very lucky) and destroyed the Anglophobian heavy gun.
In return the Anglopbobian gunners had somewhat thinned the ranks of the advancing Jagers.
Chastened by the experience of the cavalry, the Forbodians had wisely concentrated two battalions on one flank.

Even the Anglophobian CO had joined in the fun

Meanwhile on 'Gun Hill' (there's one in every game...) the unflustered gunners kept up a steady barrage of matchsticks and profanity.

Even in solo games my dice rolling is atrocious.  This roll was for the Sailors' rifle fire - they needed 4+ to hit...

Another lucky hit from the Forbodian artillery - this time the Commodore is blown apart!

The naval gunners have by now shifted their sights to a further regiment of Forbodian cavalry.
These Italeri Mamlukes are big targets!

With ranks thinned on both sides, the infantry close in for a showdown

On the Forbodian left the other Naval Battalion is assailed by the cavalry
Will the second cavalry charge be better than the first?

What will the artillery hit next?

Has anyone read this far down the page?

The thrilling conclusion to this tale of iron guns, wooden ammunition and plastic men is coming soon!

  1. Hi Tim,

It is gratifying to know that the atrocious level of one's solo dice rolling is not merely confined to the South Eastern corner of Essex....Although the Abdul Aziz might have taken exception to that comment!

Great looking game though and for sure those cavalry look huge!

    All the best,

    DC

The Forbodian Gendarmes are big lads - no wonder the horses are grumbling.

  11. The quality of the dice is entirely due to the fact that they are black. NQM heavy dice are used to pulling low scores out of the hat for comedy effect :O)

    Regards, Chris.

Most of my dice rolling acheives a comic effect - albeit unintended...

  13. I don't know why you are complaining about the die rolls-those pictured add up to 9-that's TWO hits on 4+.
