Ghastly Gustav - part 1

The final model in my Winter Aircraft Project is this Airfix Bf-109G.  It hadn't been particularly well put together by it's previous owner and was missing its propellor.  A suitable spinner which more or less fitted was located in my spares box and after the rather pronounced join between the fuselage halves had been sanded down it was glued into place.
This was a kit I built at least twice in the '70s - I remember it was originally moulded in pale blue plastic.  One of them came as part of a 'Dogfight Double' set, paired with a Beaufighter.

    Oh yes, I remember the pale blue 109 and the Dogfight set with the lovely Beaufighter. Blimey! Nostalgia. :)

    I carried out the same exercise a couple of years ag and was quite surprised by the outcome.

    Was the dogfight double series the one that came with a framed 8 x 6 of the two aircraft which then had attachments for the two models to mount onto the picture frame?

    If so I can remember having the Spitfire v Stuka set. Loved it at the time.

    I don't remember any picture frames. The 'Doubles came with a special double standshich allowed the models to be shown 'in flight'. The set with the Spitfire paired it with Bf110.
