I found myself re boxing my collection of 1/144 scale WW2 USAAF aircraft the other day and decided to set them out for a few photos. There are rather a lot of them!
The keen spotters among you will have no doubt identified all 39 of them....
To save any more eye strain the full list is as follows:
5 C-47 Dakota, 1 B-29 Superfortress, 4 B-17 Fortress, 4 B-24 Liberator, 1 B-26 Maurauder, 2 B-25 Mitchell, 1 A-20 Havoc, 1 P-61 Black Widow, 6 P-38 Lightning, 3 P-39 Cobra, 2 P-40 Hawk, 5 P-51 Mustang, 4 P-47 Thunderbolt, 1 Spitfire.
They are a mixture of plastic kits, Japanese pre-painted 'Gashapon' kits and metal die casts.
cool collection.
ReplyDeleteSo....in Megablitz terms a B29 is used to Nuke the other side of the table if the game is not going well?
ReplyDeleteLOL, just kidding of course, impressive air force there!
Smilie
ReplyDeleteEven I had no idea there were so many of 'em!
Don M
ReplyDeleteYou may think you're kidding.....
Your Luftwaffe gets 2 FW190 and a Me 109 to send up against this.
ReplyDeleteSAROE
ReplyDeleteThe Luftwaffe are a bit better off than you suggest - I suppose you'll want a photo of all my German aircraft next?
Yes please!
ReplyDeleteYour spread causes me to think that those B-24s (and the B-29) look of a considerably more elegant design than the B-17s...
Coming soon to a grid square near you ... or maybe your grid square :O)
ReplyDeleteDon't want to see your Luftwaffe, no, absolutely not.
Oh, go on then :O)
Regards, Chris
The AC-47 would be quite a surprise to our German friends!
ReplyDeleteOutstanding collection Tim.
'Megablitz and more': with a wargames airforce such as that, methinks the title very apt.
ReplyDeleteNick Grant
ReplyDeleteThe B-24 is a surprisingly big affair, especially in terms of wing span.
Cris Kemp
ReplyDeleteI knew this would get certain people drooling!
Paul
ReplyDeleteGood spot! Not strictly a WW2 bird, but it gets lonely if not allowed to hang out with its chums.
Archduke Piccolo
ReplyDeleteIt surprises me just how much more there is!
A very impressive collection- how many years did it take you to amass the collection?
ReplyDeleteVery cool collection Tim :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic collection!
ReplyDeletePhil
Pete
ReplyDeleteGood question. I think the oldest model here dates from the mid-1990s.
Al
ReplyDeleteThanks - it's good to see them all together.
Phil
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Hi Tim,
ReplyDeleteSome people prefer quantity over quality; some people prefer quality over quantity.
I am curious to know what your excuse is for having both quantity AND quality?!
Very impressive collection and I can't wait to see the Tratvian air force in all its glory....;-)
All the best,
DC
David Crook
ReplyDeleteYou never see US bombers in small quantities - it would be wrong!
The Tratvian Imperial Military Air Corps was featuted a few month ago (http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7152572458899289416#editor/target=post;postID=5878398094027384887). It still lacks both quantity and quality...
