Kursk (North) - part 2

We rejoin the action as elements of XXXXI PanzerKorps get really stuck in to the Soviet defences.  As in the previous post, all of these photos were taken by Tom Mouat.  I have a third post of his photos still to come, followed by some 'overview' shots by John Armatys and myself.
A mis-directed Soviet air raid hits an unfortunate recce company of 10PD.  The German officer's final transmission went - "Ve haff found ze Red Luftwaffe.  Aaaaargh!"

Assault gun units press forwards...
...together with 10 Panzer Division.
The Soviet defenders are supported by heavy tank regiments...
...lots of 'em!
72ID assaults a Soviet defended position (bravely manned by John A's Russians), while recce units from at least two panzer divisions complete the encirclement.

The attack shown in the first few pics develops.  This proved to be a real slogging match due to the Soviet support troops.
The Soviet air arm finally finds it's target.  In this game I appointed an air umpire (Wg Cdr Luddite) to run the air side of the game - responding to requests from commanders and adjudicating what arrived, where and when.

  2. A post packed though and though with eye candy.

It looks a close run thing Tim. I am rooting for the fritzes.

I still am getting a kick identifying the kit on the stands.

    Happy Easter!

Glad it's keeping you amused. Have you managed to ID all the toys yet?

Ok, now you're just trying to show off. Actually it's a Leyland (but damn similar to the ERF) so you only get 50 points.
