A package which arrived recently from the far flung colonies turned out to contain essential supplies from Paul and Al in New Zealand. Thanks again chaps. Spookily, it showed up the day after I had sent a box of old crap, er I mean similarly valuable treasures, to NZ.
The box I received contained a Matchbox Wespe and Airfix Sd 234 - both in need of some repairs - which I have already passed on to Martin. The discussion thus prompted included a quick calculation of the number of 20mm Megablitz panzer divisions we own between us. I will draw a veil over the rather frightening result... Some 20mm Russian figures will be passed to John when I next see him.
The box's remaining contents are revealed in the photo below. The Auster kit looks a bit intimidating but I fully intend to build it - in the fullness of time. I already have a Ki-61 kit in stock, an used one a few years ago to make (sort of) a Macchi MC-205. Time for a post on my 1/144 scale Regia Aeronautica perhaps? The eight(!) Roskopf 1/100 Shermans are most welcome - you can see my existing one being used here. It's the third tank in on the first photo. These will probably swell the armoured might of that well known man of the people, President Fred of Phtang. The Airfix Leopard will need repair, but I do have a few parts in stock....

ReplyDeleteOne man's worthless crap is another man's priceless treasure.

ReplyDeleteYou can be sure that these weapons of destruction were far too advanced for us Kiwi's.
ReplyDeleteOne hopes Phtang will have better lick with them.

ReplyDeleteI think it had been kicked around the sorting office, but no harm done!

ReplyDeleteI can see how a Sherman or Auster would cause bafflement to you colonial frontiersmen. I'll see if I can figure it all out...
