News just in from Vulgaria (Martin's new name for his comedy-Prussian country) where a staff officer has been assassinated by 'Big Willi', a suspected member of the 'Black Bowler Gang'. This shadowy organisation is widely believed to have links to Forbodia, and it is perhaps no surprise that the deceased officer, Colonel von Knickerbocker, had recently led calls for the persecution of Vulgaria's small Forbodian expat community. It is understood that the late Colonel's anti-Forbidian sentiments stemmed from his embarrassing loss of an entire artillery battery in a recent border clash with Forbodian defence forces.
In this reconstruction of events, von Knickerbocker is gunned down in broad daylight. |
von K is a plastic Italeri figure, the assassin a metal western gunfighter I picked up at the London Toy Soldier Show in December. |
Exit pursued by the Vulgarian Army (Armies in Plastic Prussians). Big Willi makes good his escape. |
Gripping news! Lets hope this spark does not lead to any nasty recriminations to the peace loving people of Forbodia.

ReplyDeleteIt has to be said - my big Willi is the envy of many...
Bounder!
ReplyDeleteErrr ... I thought the other country was Vulgaria Tim?

ReplyDeleteIt's all a question of perspective. One man's bounder is another's hero!

ReplyDeleteWhat?
With reference to your anatomy comment Tim, can we expect to see Colonel Double-Entendre as head of your Counterintelligence Bureau? Perhaps with his sidekick, Major John Thomas?
ReplyDeleteOh, you are slow tonight Sir, and where's your picture in a hat? Bankanista has posted his :-)

You can see the sort of provocation the Vulgarians have to put up with. All we want to do is polish our jackboots and Pickelhaubes in peace, meanwhile Forbodian terrorists stalk the streets gunning down innocent soldiers.
ReplyDeleteA protest has been lodged with the Forbodian embassy and further troop units are being raised to reinforce our border defence forces.
An official day of mourning has been declared in memory of the Colonel.
All the news seems do bleak (but fun).
ReplyDeleteIn an attempt to enter the sprit of the thing I tried to comment via heliograph myself. However, being just past midnight, it seems the thing won't work. I hate modern technology.
