Although there has been little previous mention of them on these pages, I maintain a modest collection of 15mm toys for games set in fictional African countries in the 1960s/80s. Most of the figures are from the splendid Peter Pig ranges and, while the PP's own AK-47 Republic rules have been used occasionally, more recent games have used Matrix Game mechanisms such as those mentioned here.
My 'own' fictional country of Phtang is ruled over by President Fred, notorious leader of the Phtangi Organisation for National Glorification. Anyway, why (you ask) am I drivelling on about this now? In a shock development I have painted a few of the 'spare' 15mm figures I had lying around. More photos will follow over the coming weeks.
President Fred views the body of one of his political opponents during a typically free and open Phtangi election... |
Viva El Presidente!!!

ReplyDeleteWell said - that's the way to survive in Phtang!
I for one welcome another twenty years of his reign.
ReplyDeleteI like your humor! Fred, and what is his last name? Flintstone? :-D
ReplyDeleteWhat will happen in the next episode?

ReplyDeleteI'm sure the President will have an opening in his government for a bright lad like you.

ReplyDeleteFrivolous comments in relation to President Fred are likely to result in a visit from his Internal Security representatives....
Was his 'progressive democratic' slogan "Better vote Fred than be dead"
ReplyDeletePeter Pig has such a seductive 15mm range for the AK47 wars

ReplyDeleteThe President likes that! Perhaps you'd like to join his reelection team? Just collect your assault rifle on the way to the polling station....
Now that's something completely different:)
