M-247 DIVAD Sgt. Yuk - part 2

Here is the finished effort in all it's ghastly glory.  I think 'Sgt. Yuk' is a much more fitting name for my version!

In case you missed it here is the build: link
Sgt. Yuk struggling to see off some even older technology.  It kept shooting at the glass....

Perhaps the radar detected the glass last contained vodka?

  2. How did the hens react to this intruder?

  3. Lovely job Tim. I seem to recall we played a 6mm game with a Sergeant York in it a few years back? It didn't work very well then either.

Could be. But I must add that no alcohol was involved in the making of this model. Planning it, on the other hand.....

I think that goes to prove how authentic my games are. Unlike my models.....

It should feature near the top of the 'crap but compelling' list!

  10. Looking ... erm ... good?! But here's a thing. Have you ever noticed that the unit(s) that you find hardest to drum up any fondness for are the ones that perform prodigies on the battlefield? I wonder what they are trying to prove...? :-)

  11. Well the glass was clearly in
    league with that subversive
    commie aircraft! So it counts
    as a hit....)

  12. Very nice Tim- funny how the ZSU23-4 worked and that didn't....

    Cheers,

    Pete.

  13. I was thinking the same thing as Pete - why didn't this work? Although I am one of those people that thinks - in design - if something looks right then it'll work right.

In any case, this is a wonderful job Tim. It loks terrific.

I know what you mean. I think its a variation of the rule that new lay painted toys will die first.

I think it would have taken a brave Senator to advocate buying Russian!

As far as I can see it didn't work because virtually every element of it was wrong! Let's have a flash new system with a radar linked to a pair of proven guns? Fine. But now let's adapt the radar from something we already have in stock. OK-ish. But now let's fatally compromise it by bolting it to an ancient tank hull. Hmm. In fairness, though, the M48 hull was the only bit that worked. Just a bit too slowly.....

  18. What about the Gepard- did the Cold War US ever buy (West) German?

    Cheers,

    Pete.

Gepard - or at least the turret - was one of the contenders but was pushed aside by this piece of cr*p. Madness.

Having seen the beast up close and in person, I can say that every adjective that could be applied understates the model.
    Well done.

Very kind sir - assuming you mean positive adjectives?

  22. TIm
Yes some of them are positive.

Actually most of the negatives are understatements....
