2 Division Légère Mécanisée

Another of my French follies now - in the shape of 2 DLM.  This Megablitz division was cobbled together from a mixture Ian Lowell's stunning conversions, beautifully built and painted kits from Nick Huband and some of my own shoddy offerings.
The tank component consists of a pair of Renault R-35s (nice resin models) standing in for Hotchkiss light tanks, a Somua S-35 (Heller kit) and a Renault D-2.
The sole infantry (or Dragon-Portes) battalion trundles around in this Lorraine L-38 (RAFM metal kit).
If the tanks don't get them first, the panzers will be swept away by this mighty AT unit with their 25mm gun (Hincliffe metal kit and crew) towed by a Latil halftrack (resin kit).
No French unit would be complete without a regiment of 75mm guns.  This one is a metal model pulled by one of Ian's scratchbuilt Somua halftracks.
The cavalry (recce) element is made up of four squadron-sized stands.  Two with these Schneider P-16 armoured halftracks...
...and two with Panhard P-178 armoured cars.  Like the Schneiders these are resin models of unknown origin.

Very French Tim...I feel sorry for them.

Looks good - not in the least bit 'shoddy' ... is that a sort of not very good Noddy? His car would fit in with some of the French kit anyway.

I think that sums it up nicely!

The Boche are well aware of the capability of this unit. Send in the Stukas....

Noddy was rejected when he tried to join 2DLM. I think he ended up in a motorised infantry division....

Given the less than great record of my 1/144 Stukas you may well be right.
